So I called Amanda and did not get an answer and I had a sense of relief—my image of a trainer was me pushing 200 lbs. and a trainer screaming at me in the background ( I had no previous experience with a personal trainer ) Then a couple of weeks later after Amanda’s holiday she called me and I set up a date. I was pleasantly surprised with the experience—she was amusing and only pushed me to do things I could do.
I have been working with her now for over 5 months and I am getting toned all around and maintaining my weight loss . This makes me happy as I was very worried about putting back my weight. I feel much stronger physically and was even able to take a rowing course last July—something I thought I could never do.
And I still fit into size 14 pants which for me is a huge achievement.

Amanda was not my first personal trainer… She was my replacement after my first one bailed.. needless to say there are very few times in life where you get a chance to connect with someone who’s on your side to help… Who is able to help you reach your goals, push you harder than you thought you could go, but treats you like a best friend and truly cares about you. I’ve always been an active person and had attempted to work out with personal trainers in the past, but always felt uncomfortable. I was getting frustrated with a chronic knee injury that never seemed to improve, so my dad told me to go see his trainer as she is a kinesiologist and could probably help.
I’ve been working with Amanda for over a year and she has helped me recover through muscle balancing exercises and rolling techniques, I rely on my brace much less than I used to and I’m in a lot less pain. Amanda is fun to work out with, the exercises are always different so it’s never boring, and I’m now more toned than I used to be.
